Auckland - Melbourne - Devonport

Depart Auckland early-afternoon on Qantas Airways for Melbourne. Change planes and arrive into Launceston late evening. Transfer to the hotel in Devonport for a two-night stay.

Today’s journey starts with a visit to Clarendon, one of Australia’s finest Georgian houses, built in 1838 for wool grower and merchant James Cox. The house and garden have been beautifully restored to their original condition. Afterwards, travel nearby to visit the historic gardens of Brickendon Estate, one of Tasmania’s oldest farming properties. First settled in 1825 by William Archer, it has been owned and farmed by the same family for over 180 years.

Launceston - Hobart

Today, explore the historic Woolmers Estate, one of the most significant heritage properties in Australia and home to the National Rose Garden of Australia. Spanning two hectares, the garden offers visitors a unique journey through the evolution of the rose and is home to all the recognised rose varieties. Visit the Heritage Vegetable Garden, which features heirloom vegetables and fruits that are no longer commonly found today. Tour south this afternoon to Hobart for a four-night stay.

In the morning, visit Crawleighwood Garden, a beautiful two-hectare garden nestled in the picturesque hills of Nicholls Rivulet, near Cygnet in the stunning Huon Valley. The garden features lush rhododendron woodlands, rainforest with myrtles, rare and unusual plants, and a wide variety of deciduous trees, including maples that will be showcasing their spring leaves. You’ll also discover meandering paths, stone walls, and a Gondwanan arboretum. In the afternoon, we visit Inverawe Native Gardens, Tasmania’s largest landscaped native garden. Here, you will learn how this once overgrown patch of wasteland was transformed into a delightful native garden that blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. This afternoon return to Hobart and visit the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Farewell dinner tonight.
