Friday 02 August

Auckland - Sydney

An afternoon departure from Auckland on QANTAS for our flight to Sydney. On arrival we transfer to our airport hotel. 

Saturday 03 August

Sydney - Darwin

An early morning flight to Darwin. On arrival we transfer to our hotel and this afternoon enjoy a city tour which includes Darwin City and landscapes, the botanical gardens and Northern Territory museum. This evening we enjoy an evening sunset dinner cruise on Darwin Harbour.

Monday 05 August

Darwin - Katherine

This morning travel via the Adelaide River War Cemetery to Katherine Gorge. Sit back and relax as you enjoy a river cruise past dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, the hanging gardens and the pristine wilderness that is the Katherine River Gorge. Dinner in a local restaurant this evening.

 

Tuesday 06 August

Katherine – Lake Argyle – Kununurra

Today we continue to Lake Argyle which is 21 times larger than Sydney Harbour. We take a cruise and explore the rugged northern end of Lake Argyle encountering Rock Wallabies, Crocodiles, Wallaroos and the diverse array of birdlife that call Lake Argyle home. We continue onto Kununurra for a two night stay.

Kununurra – Bungle Bungle - Kununurra

Today we take a scenic flight on an adventure over some of the most stunning and renowned sites in the Kimberley. During this two-hour flight, you will soar over the beautiful Bungle Bungle Range, Lake Argyle, the Argyle Diamond Mine and the Ord River Irrigation Area. You will also witness the stunning Carr Boyd and Osmand Ranges, the Ord and Bow Rivers, before returning to Kununurra. Afternoon and evening at leisure. 

Thursday 08 August

Kununurra – Wyndam – El Questro Station

After breakfast we travel to the northernmost town in the Kimberly region and the Five Rivers Lookout. We drive onto the famous El Questro Station in the heart of the Kimberley region covering 283,280 hectares of stunning landscape. An optional walk to Emma Gorge is available. Tonight we enjoy a special dinner under the sweeping outback evening sky. Our accommodation tonight is safari-style tented cabins featuring private en-suites. 

 

Friday 09 August

El Questro Station

Today is at leisure. Why not explore more of the walking tracks, take a scenic helicopter flight or visit Zebedee Thermal Springs where you can relax in the warm waters. 

 

Saturday 10 August

El Questro Station - Fitzroy Crossing

This morning we travel to Fitzroy Crossing set on the banks of the mighty Fitzroy River. It’s a true outback town full of pioneer and aboriginal history. 

 

 

Sunday 11 August

Fitzroy Crossing – Broome

Today we start the day with a cruise through the stunning Geikie Gorge. We have the chance to see crocodiles, sea eagles, rare, purple-crowned fairy-wrens, and wallabies. Continue onto Broome a multicultural melting pot and the gateway to the Kimberley, one of the world’s great wildernesses. Enjoy an orientation tour followed by an evening at leisure

Monday 12 August

Broome – Horizontal Falls

Today we experience a thrilling excursion to the Horizontal Falls. You’ll take a scenic seaplane flight and then a thrilling ride on a fast boat through the waterfalls. Here, unlike any other waterfall, the water passes horizontally. A sight not to be missed. We return to Broome for a relaxing afternoon. Tonight, enjoy a craft beer tasting followed by a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. 

Tuesday 13 August

Broome – Sydney

After a leisurely morning, we fly to Sydney for an overnight at Sydney airport.

This morning we contine home, arriving into Auckland mid afternoon.
