Mid-morning departure on Air New Zealand. On arrival transfer by coach to your waterfront motel accommodation. This evening the festival commences with the official opening, followed by Le Marché de Nuit– the Night Market. Enjoy fabulous food, wine vendors, live music and dancing.
This morning, watch ‘Landings’ on the main beach - a re-enactment of the many people who came to call Akaroa home. Listen to their stories, celebrate their arrivals and share their heritage. Following this, the people of Onuku Runanga and a brass band will lead Akaroa’s famous Descendants Parade to the Festival Rotunda for Le Marché Français (Market Day). Here enjoy lots of French cuisine, live music, local food and wine and games. For the more energetic, French-themed competitions will be held, including cock crowing, a waiter’s race and many French games in the Heritage marquee.
Saturday evening - – It’s party time! Enjoy dance, comedy and music at the showstopping Le Cabaret in the Big Top marquee featuring Le Can Can, comedy acts, live music and burlesque.
A free morning at the festival centre. Wander through La Brocante – a French inspired Antiques and Collectables Vintage Fair before a mid-afternoon departure from Christchurch airport.
