Auckland – Melbourne

Early morning departure on Air New Zealand to arrive in Melbourne late morning. Enjoy a half-day city tour including the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground and beachside St Kilda. Continue to our inner-city hotel for a four night stay. Welcome Dinner tonight.

Today’s excursion to the Dandenong Ranges has something for everyone. Amble through villages with craft shops, cafés, museums and cultural centres; enjoy the panoramic vista from the Sky High Scenic Lookout or experience a ride on the iconic Puffing Billy steam railway. Also time to enjoy a Devonshire Tea along the way. Return to Melbourne late afternoon.

Today we visit the Mornington Peninsula where we board the state-of-the-art gondola and ride across the forest to the highest point with stunning views of the bay and an abundance of wildlife. Continue on to the Royal Botanical Gardens in the afternoon.

Monday 17 September

Day free to further explore the city, wander along the Yarra River, visit China Town or shop. There is also the opportunity to visit the colourful and impressive Tulip Festival,

Tuesday 18 September

Melbourne – Adelaide

Transfer to the railway station for a morning departure on The Overland train, travelling through diverse landscapes and rural towns to arrive in Adelaide early evening. Transfer to your hotel in Glenelg for a three night stay.

Wednesday 19 September

After breakfast enjoy a city sights tour then continue to Seppeltfield Winery for a grand insight tour, lunch and wine tasting. Return to hotel mid-afternoon.

Thursday 20 September

Our morning tour drives to Mt Lofty summit and Hahndorf, a small town on the outskirts of Adelaide. Return to Adelaide with the afternoon free for shopping and perhaps visit the Adelaide Gaol. Enjoy a Farewell Dinner tonight.

Adelaide – Auckland

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight home to Auckland, arriving early evening.

Health and Fitness

A good standard of fitness is required with the ability to walk 400m unaided. The train can be unstable at times and sound balance is essential.
