Depart on Air New Zealand to arrive into Adelaide late morning. Enjoy a city sights tour before arriving at your inner-city hotel. An afternoon to relax before a Welcome Dinner tonight to mix and mingle.
After breakfast travel to the famous D’Arenberg Cube which sits in the centre of Mourvèdre vines for a tour, tasting and lunch. This afternoon we continue onto Cape Jervis ferry terminal for an afternoon crossing to Kangaroo Island.
Today’s starts with a Kingscote town tour. Enjoy lunch at the Kangaroo Island Spirits Distillery before continuing onto the Raptor Domain to take in their birds of prey show and tour. Return to the hotel late afternoon.
The day starts with a return ferry trip to the mainland, then travel via Victor Harbour before arriving at Mannum mid-afternoon to board the Murray Princess. This evening, cruise upriver under floodlight to our overnight mooring at Caurnamont. Watch for kangaroos, hairy-nosed wombats, tortoises, egrets and many other species.
Enjoy a leisurely morning and lunch cruising upriver towards the overnight anchorage in Blanchetown, through one of 13 locks that maintain the flow and levels of the river’s water. Early evening, visit Burk Salter Boutique Winery to enjoy a wine tasting at their cellar door. After dinner back on board, participate in the Murray Princess’ own ‘Murray River Cup’.
After breakfast, cruise downriver to the historic, picturesque Swan Reach to join a walking tour of the town and a visit to the Swan Reach Museum. After lunch, cruise on to Sunnydale and head ashore for the Woolshed Show and a visit to the Native Wildlife Shelter. This evening it’s the great Aussie Barbecue cooked and served in a bush setting on the banks of the Murray River.
This morning, join the Captain’s bush walk where the guide will share the secrets of the local flora and fauna. Cruise onward to Ngaut Ngaut Conservation Park for a guided boardwalk tour to view ancient rock carvings and to learn about the Aboriginal history of the area. Continue to Younghusband and along the way scenic tender boat rides are available. Tonight, enjoy a delicious final dinner on board.
This morning, head back to Mannum and after breakfast, say farewell to the Murray Princess. Travel back to Adelaide via Hahndorf to enjoy a two-course lunch at the Haus Restaurant with time to explore the village shops. Continue onto your waterfront accommodation in the seaside suburb of Glenelg.
Today a free day to follow your own interests or at an additional cost take the optional full-day tour out to the Barossa Valley wine region. Why not take a tram back to the city centre or enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants on the waterfront. Tonight, enjoy a Farewell Dinner.
Optional Tour Full Day Barossa Valley Tour (additional cost AUD$200) Enjoy a full-day food and wine journey to South Australia’s premium wine region, the Barossa Valley. Take time to sample some of the Barossa’s finest wines. A delicious lunch is provided amongst the vines before a final stop at the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company. Arrive back at the hotel late afternoon.

If you are over 80 years of age the Murray Princess Cruise asks for a certificate of fitness from your GP or proof of insurance.Mobility frames and wheelchairs are not practical or permitted. It is expected you will arrive on tour fit, healthy and ready to travel.

The Murray Princess is an authentic paddle-wheeler which is propelled by its massive stern wheel. The Murray Princess is a true inland paddle-wheeler built for the Murray River, with a character and charm of yesteryear. It is the largest inland paddle-wheeler in the southern hemisphere. The onboard atmosphere is relaxed and informal by style. The lounge features a majestic view of the paddlewheel in action through the two-story viewing window. Upper and lower lounge areas are accessed by the classic brass and mahogany style spiral staircase.
