Sunday 15 March

Perth – Margaret River

Travel south with an inland that provides a good cross section of rural life. At a cross roads in the middle of nowhere is Gnomesville, a prolific collection of the legendary creatures.
Continue on to Donnybrook, the apple capital and onto the coastal city of Busselton with its 1.8km jutting out into the Indian Ocean. Arrive into Margaret River for a two-night stay.

Begin with a drive to Cape Leeuwin, the most south-westerly point of Australia where the Indian and pacific Oceans meet. Visit the famous lighthouse and later Mammouth Caves, a large limestone cavern where a guided tour is included.

Margaret River – Pemberton

Travel inland to the town of Nannup – home of Cambray Cheese. Lunch at a truffle growing area and on to the former saw milling town of Pemberton where we enjoy a train ride along an old timber rail line.
