Mt Cook to Kaikoura

A Central South Island Rail Tour

The opportunity to enjoy whale watching at Kaikoura and spend two nights at Aoraki / Mount Cook staying in the Hermitage Hotel are two of the highlights of our new rail / coach tour of central South Island.

Travel by train to observe the recovery of earthquake-torn Kaikoura, enjoy time to explore the beauty and serenity of the Mt Cook National Park and relax in the coastal city of Oamaru.

Our exclusive chartered train and coach travels alongside snow-fed lakes, rivers, hydro dams, majestic alps and high country stations – all in sharp contrast to the fertile plains of Canterbury.
