A morning departure from Auckland on Singapore Airlines. Arrive Singapore, change planes and continue on to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu late evening and transfer to your inner-city hotel.
After breakfast, visit Bhaktapur, Nepal’s former capital, famous for its ancient architecture and lively squares. Explore narrow alleys, meet local artisans, and see centuries-old traditions at Dattatraya Square and Pottery Square. In the afternoon, continue to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world’s largest Buddhist stupas. Experience its peaceful atmosphere, observe monks in prayer, and learn about Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
Today enjoy a hands-on Nepali cooking experience with a local family, learning about spices, recipes, and cooking techniques. Savor the meal you’ve prepared in a true farm-to-table experience. Continue and visit Patan, exploring its historic streets, temples, and the Patan Museum, showcasing traditional art and craftsmanship.
After breakfast, drive to Bandipur, a charming hill village that feels like an open-air museum. Wander its quiet streets lined with beautifully preserved 18th-century Newari-style buildings, free from mass tourism and motorised traffic.
This morning, continue to Ghandruk Village in the Modi Khola Valley, nestled within Nepal’s Annapurna region. From here, enjoy sweeping panoramas of the Annapurna massif, including views of Annapurna I — the world’s tenth-highest peak.
Today explore everyday life in Nepal’s mountains, especially that of the Gurung people. The whole place hums with activity, and you can soak it all up with time at leisure to possibly sip tea or wander the streets lined with prayer flags.
After breakfast, drive to Pokhara. Its pristine air, the spectacular backdrop of the snowy peaks of the Annapurna Range, and the serene Phewa, Begnas, and Rupa Lakes, makes this destination ‘the Jewel of the Himalaya’. This afternoon enjoy a leisurely lakeside walking tour and soak up the serene atmosphere.
This morning enjoy a relaxing hike around Sarangkot Hill Station, offering gentle trails with panoramic views of the Annapurna range and Phewa Lake. This easy walk passes through charming villages and lush terraced fields, perfect for soaking in the natural beauty at a comfortable pace. This afternoon take a short cruise on Lake Phewa to complete the day.
Today drive to Chitwan National Park, one of the most famous wildlife-viewing parks in Asia and listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You’ll have an excellent chance of spotting one-horned rhinos, deer, monkeys, leopards, wild elephants, royal Bengal tigers, and as many as 450 species of birds.
For watching wildlife, birds, and the rare species of flora and fauna we take a 4WD jungle safari deep into the park. Later in the day you’ll also have a chance to explore the Tharu villages surrounding the park.
After breakfast, take a short flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel with free time to relax. This afternoon take a charming rickshaw ride through the narrow alleys of the old city, leading to the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square. Explore the ancient temples, courtyards, and palaces that reflect the city’s rich cultural heritage before our farewell dinner.
Today visit a bustling local street market where you’ll get a glimpse into the daily lives of Kathmandu’s residents—perfect for capturing authentic moments and trying local snacks. Then enjoy an afternoon at leisure for last minute shopping or relaxing around the pool. An evening transfer to the airport for our flight to Singapore.
Change planes in Singapore and fly onto Auckland arriving late evening.

To ensure the tour is enjoyable for the whole group a good standard of health and fitness is required. Kathmandu’s streets and alleyways are often uneven and crowded. Be prepared for steps and narrow lanes. This tour is not suitable for those who require airport wheelchair assistance or any mobility aids. It is essential that you arrive on tour fit, healthy and ready to travel.
Travelling at altitude - Kathmandu - Kathmandu sits at ~1,400 m (4,600 ft), so altitude sickness is uncommon.
