Explore lesser-known Slovakia; Budapest - Hungary’s capital and city of bridges; Croatia; Serbia’s capital Belgrade - known as the ‘White City, Bulgaria and Romania – all from the river, a transport lifeline in days gone by.
In Romania, we travel by coach from Bucharest to Brasov in the mountains of Transylvania to visit Bran Castle made famous or infamous by ‘Count Dracula.’.

This morning time to explore Mariahilfer Street, Vienna’s premier shopping / café area. Take time for a coffee and Vienna’s renowned pastries. Schönbrunn Castle is only 10 minutes away. Transfer to the ship early afternoon. Prior to dinner, meet your fellow passengers and Cruise Staff for a cocktail / crew introduction followed by an information meeting. Later enjoy a welcome dinner.
After breakfast our morning city sightseeing tour will introduce you to the most attractive sights of this ‘Imperial’ capital. See the State Opera, Parliament, St Stephan’s Cathedral and take a walk through the pedestrian zone from Graben and Kohlmarkt to Michaela Square ending at the entrance of the Hofburg (Imperial Palace). Lunch is included with the balance of the afternoon at leisure. Tonight we include a Classical Concert.
Welcome to Slovakia! Enjoy a morning walking tour of the lovely city centre, past St. Martin's Cathedral and the Primate's Palace. Continue through the Old Town – Michael's Gate, Michael's Tower, Main Square, Old Town Hall and Slovak National Theatre. Free time this afternoon to explore before dinner onboard this evening.
This morning we cruise into Budapest at midday. After lunch we include a city sights tour including St. Stefan Cathedral, the Opera and the Square of Heros. This evening enjoy a rousing performance of the 40-member Hungarian National Folklore Ensemble.
This morning we enjoy a delightful walking tour of the city. We visit the largest open air market in Budapest and we then continue to the city’s main pedestrian promenade full of shops and cafes. This afternoon we include a visit to an authentic Puzsta - a horse stud farm. The tour will include a drive in old fashioned horse drawn carriages, an unforgettable performance of Hungarian horsemanship, followed by a taste of local ‘Palinka’ brandy, wine and snacks.
Welcome to Croatia. Arriving midafternoon we enjoy a city tour of the Old Town witnessing the best preserved and largest ensemble of baroque buildings in Croatia. Enjoy light refreshments in the gardens of the local Franciscan Monastery before returning to the ship before dinner.
Welcome to Serbia. A brief walking tour introduces you to this pedestrian friendly town before a winetasting tour in the Serbian Countryside. Your hosts will welcome you to their home, where you will tour their wine cellars and the ‘Museum of Honey’. Tonight set sail for Belgrade.
After breakfast a morning tour of this lively and vibrant city includes the Kalemegdan Fortress, looming over the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers. Continue onto an authentic Serbian Village and homestead for lunch, music and fun before returning to the ship for dinner. After dinner, a private onboard folklore show before sailing for Romania.
Today relax onboard the ms River Navigator. Pass through the highest gorge on the Danube, aptly named the ‘The Iron Gates’. More than 100 km long, this canyon, was a gigantic obstacle to navigation because of its pointed rocks, cliffs, and changing water levels, surrounded with very wild, yet attractive nature.
On arrival, enjoy a walking tour of this delightful Bulgarian river port, highlighted by a visit to the 13th century fortress named ‘Baba Vida’ (Grandma Vida) the best preserved medieval fortress in the country. Free time before sailing to Romania mid-afternoon.
After breakfast, disembark the ship and travel north by coach through the beautiful Romanian countryside towards Brasov, Romania’s second largest city and renowned winter resort.
We begin our half day sightseeing tour with the infamous Bran Castle, the ‘historic’ home of Count Vlad the Impaler – popularized world over in Bram Stoker’s novels featuring the blood-thirsty ‘Count Dracula. The afternoon is free to explore this lively city on your own before a special dinner tonight.
After breakfast, a leisurely journey back to Bucharest. On arrival, enjoy a city tour of the ‘Paris of the East,’ with the balance of the day exploring this friendly city on your own, shopping for souvenirs. Farewell dinner tonight.
Afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight via Frankfurt to Singapore.
Arrive Singapore and transfer to Airport Hotel for overnight stay. *(Premium Economy and Business class continue on to Auckland – No night in Singapore).

Walking tours are an important part of the itinerary and a good standard of health is required. The ability to walk 300 meters unaided with the ability to walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs ensures you will enjoy the tour.

Our 5* deluxe River Discovery II, built in 2012, represents a new generation of river cruise vessels sailing the rivers of Europe!
The deluxe cabins are all 16 sqm (165 sq feet) in size, outward facing and furnished with modern furniture, hotel style twin beds that can be
converted into a double.
They are distributed over 3 decks with the Lower Odyssey Deck featuring half-windows, while cabins on the Middle and Upper decks feature full floor to ceiling French Balconies which allow you to open your room to fresh river breezes without compromising the valuable interior space.
Our deluxe suites, all located on the Upper Navigator deck are 23 sqm (250 sq feet).
