Wake up in the southern port of Benoa in south Bali. Experience this exquisite island with a view of rice fields and mountains dotted with temples. The harbour area is known for its beaches, water activities and proximity to great attractions. Overnight in this port gives you more time to explore at a relaxed pace.
Enjoy another full day to explore Bali and experience the gentle Balinese culture and authentic cuisine. Take a visit to Puja Mandala – a unique cultural complex featuring five different houses of worship which stand side by side. Or, visit the old port area and Jembatan Merah (Red Bridge), significant in the city’s history.
Arrive today at one of Indonesia’s best kept secrets. Lombok boasts idyllic beaches lapped by impossibly translucent aquamarine waters. Divers and snorkellers can explore thriving reefs or discover Hindu and Muslim temples in the capital city of Mataram, including the mesmerizing, tiered towers of the 10th Century Pura Meru complex.
Komodo is one of the 17,508 islands of Indonesia and one of three major islands making up Komodo National Park,a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to being a popular destination for diving, it is the only natural habitat of the Komodo dragon and one of the only places on earth you can see them. The island of Komodo includes approximately 60 square miles of craggy mountains, deep canyons, savannas and monsoon rainforests.
Komodo Dragons - Komodo dragons are the world’s largest living lizards, native to several ndonesian islands, growing up to 10 feet long and weighing up to pproximately 136kg. These massive reptiles are apex predators with a venomous bite, remarkable hunting skills, and the ability to take down prey much larger than themselves, including deer and water buffalo, making them one of the most formidable lizard species on the planet.
This morning step ashore to delight in the natural wonders and cultural immersion of Sumba, an idylic gem and one of the less frequented islands of Indonesia. It’s a place of lagoons, wild horses, tropical forests, celestial waterfalls, soft white sand beaches and intriguing tribal culture. In the villages outside of Waingapu, you’ll experience the well-preserved culture of traditional villages with bamboo houses, thatched roofs and megalithic tombs. Observe the traditional ikat handweaving technique, which creates exotic fabrics for which the island has become known.
Disembark Oceania Riviera in Fremantle. We enjoy an orientation tour of Perth including Kings Park, Bell Tower and a drive by Optus Stadium before transferring to the railway station to board the ‘Indian Pacific’ train for a late afternoon departure.
