Jack Hobbs recently retired from his long-standing role as Manager of the Auckland Botanic Gardens, a position he held since 1997. He also served as President of the Royal NZ Institute of Horticulture from 2001 to 2011.
A passionate plantsman and garden enthusiast, Jack is well known for his work as a television presenter on gardening programmes and for his many published articles on plants and horticulture. He has escorted garden tours to many countries, combining his love of travel with his botanical expertise.
Now enjoying retirement, Jack continues to play tennis, travel, and spend time at home in Mauku with his wife Sandra – and many horses.
