Tour Escorts

Pukekohe Travel tour escorts come from a variety of backgrounds.

The travel and hotel industry, a background of living and touring in Africa, a cyclist from way back and a journalist.

They do not escort for a living but for the love of travel, and wanting to make a difference to our clients while on tour.  What you will experience is a relaxed but professional approach and the social side of touring is not forgotten.  There is no 'see you at breakfast' at 5 o'clock.
Singles will never be forgotten.

Jim Murphy

jim 1
As a founding director of Pukekohe Travel 35 years ago and the 'tour maker' for about 30 of these, he started escorting our tours rights from the start.
Rugby related tours were the main catalyst for our diverse escorted tour portfolio with All Black supporters tours to UK and South Africa.  Jim has been to all the main rugby stadiums of the world.  A lucky man as rugby is a passion now followed by cycling.

As Pukekohe Travel diversified, Jim and often with his wife Eve, a follow director, would travel to investigate new tours and destinations and then escort the first tour to ensure it ran as they wished.  This is still the case today.

Almost all the tours on our program have gone through this process, Jim has therefore escorted tours to the four corners of the Globe.

His motto in life:

"Use it or lost it"

In travel:

"Touring and holidaying are different"

Eve Murphy

Eve, with her husband Jim have been directors of Pukekoheeve 1
Travel for the last 35 years.  Eve has worked alongside Jim
and in fact has run the Tours area for the past 25 years.

Eve was born in Malawi, grew up in Zimbabwe and travelled the world before meeting Jim and settling in New Zealand.

Once their two girls grew up, Eve has escorted many tours with Jim and sometimes without.

Eve's motto:

"Every day on tour is the best it can be"

Dave Hunt

Dave Hunt came to Pukekohe Travel on his return from a five year "senior" OE in the UK and Europe.

He followed his passion for cycling by doing the Lands End to John O'Groats ride and many more.

In Dave's life experience he trained as a school teacher and taught for many years, he has owned a sports shop, and worked for a newspaper mainly on the sport pages which allowed him to follow his other love sport.

Dave has escorted tours to Southern Africa, Cuba, Vietnam, UK for rugby, a cruise around NZ and more.

Gail Littin

Gail(copy)Gail is our office Manager and has worked for Pukekohe Travel for 20 years.  In her early years she worked alongside Eve in the tours department, so she knows exactly what goes into making a good tour.

Gail is a great communicator and always has a 'project' she is involved with; The Cancer Society Walk for Life and Daffodill day are her main ones at present.  She is also National secretary for BPW (Business and Professional Women's clubs).

When work and time permit, Gail escorts tours, recently one to Vietnam.  Others include the Carribean and Alaska.

Tony & Raewyn Rogers
