Change planes to Frankfurt and on to Vienna. Arrive midday and transfer to a centrally-located hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight.
Friday 04 Vienna B D
This morning there is time to explore Mariahilfer Street, Vienna’s premier shopping / café area. Take time for a coffee and Vienna’s renowned pastries. Schönbrunn Castle is only 10 minutes away. Transfer to the ship early afternoon. Prior to dinner, meet your fellow passengers and Cruise Staff for a cocktail / crew introduction followed by an information meeting. Then enjoy your first dinner on board, followed by a well-deserved rest.
Saturday 05 Vienna B L D
After breakfast, our morning city sightseeing tour will introduce you to the most attractive sights of this ‘Imperial’ capital. See the State Opera, Parliament, St Stephan’s Cathedral and take a walk through the pedestrian zone from Graben and Kohlmarkt to Michaela Square ending at the entrance of the Hofburg (Imperial Palace). Lunch is included with the balance of the afternoon at leisure. Tonight we include a Classical Concert.
Sunday 06 Bratislava (Slovakia) B L D
Welcome to Slovakia! Enjoy a morning walking tour of the lovely city centre, past St. Martin's Cathedral and the Primate's Palace. Continue through the Old Town – Michael's Gate, Michael's Tower, Main Square, Old Town Hall and Slovak National Theatre. Set sail mid-afternoon and enjoy a wine-tasting party before dinner onboard this evening.
Monday 07 Budapest (Hungary) B L D
This morning we cruise into Budapest at midday. After lunch we include a city sights tour including St Stefan Cathedral, the Opera and the Square of Heros. This evening enjoy a rousing performance of the 40-member Hungarian National Folklore Ensemble.
Tuesday 08 Budapest B L D
This morning, we enjoy a delightful walking tour of the city, first visiting the largest open air market in Budapest. Continue on to the city’s main pedestrian promenade full of shops and cafés. This afternoon we include a visit to an authentic Puzsta - a horse stud farm. The tour will include a drive in old fashioned horse drawn carriages, an unforgettable performance of Hungarian horsemanship, followed by a taste of local ‘Palinka’ brandy, wine and snacks.
Wednesday 09 Osijek (Croatia) B L D
Welcome to Croatia. Arriving mid-afternoon, we enjoy a city tour of the Old Town, witnessing the best-preserved and largest ensemble of Baroque buildings in Croatia. Enjoy light refreshments in the gardens of the local Franciscan Monastery before returning to the ship for dinner.
Thursday 10 Novi Sad (Serbia) B L D
Welcome to Serbia. A brief walking tour introduces you to this predestrian-friendly town before a wine tasting tour in the Serbian countryside. Your hosts will welcome you to their home where you will tour their wine cellars and the ’Museum of Honey.’ Tonight set sail for Belgrade.
Friday 11 Belgrade (Serbia) B L D
After breakfast a morning tour of this lively and vibrant city includes the Kalemegdan Fortress, looming over the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers. Continue onto an authentic Serbian Village and homestead for lunch, music and fun before returning to the ship for dinner. After dinner, a private onboard folklore show before sailing for Romania.
Saturday 12 Cruising through ‘The Iron Gate Gorge B L D
Today relax onboard the ms ‘River Navigator.’ Pass through the highest gorge on the Danube, aptly named the ‘The Iron Gates’. More than 100 km long, this canyon, was a gigantic obstacle to navigation because of its pointed rocks, cliffs, and changing water levels, surrounded with very wild, yet attractive nature.
Sunday 13 Vidin (Bulgaria) B L D
On arrival, enjoy a walking tour of this delightful Bulgarian river port, highlighted by a visit to the 13th century fortress named ‘Baba Vida’ (Grandma Vida) the best preserved medieval fortress in the country. Free time before sailing to Romania mid-afternoon.
Monday 14 Brasov (Romania) B D
After breakfast, disembark the ship and travel north by coach through the beautiful Romanian countryside towards Brasov, Romania’s second largest city and renowned winter resort.
Tuesday 15 Brasov (Dracula’s Castle) B D
We begin our half day sightseeing tour with the infamous Bran Castle, the ‘historic’ home of Count Vlad the Impaler – popularized world over in Bram Stoker’s novels featuring the blood-thirsty ‘Count Dracula. The afternoon is free to explore this lively city on your own before a special dinner tonight.
Wednesday 16 Brasov - Bucharest B D
After breakfast, a leisurely journey back to Bucharest. On arrival, enjoy a city tour of the ‘Paris of the East,’ with the balance of the day exploring this friendly city on your own. Farewell dinner tonight.
