Depart Auckland mid-morning on Air New Zealand flight to arrive in Cairns after mid-day. Transfer to your accommodation for a three-night stay. Afternoon free before a Sunset harbour cruise including a buffet welcome dinner.
Today we experience the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and the scenic Kuranda Railway which takes you over Australia’s World Heritage-listed tropical rainforest canopy and deep into the forest. The famous Kuranda Scenic Railway was built over 120 years ago and winds its way through the tropical mountain ranges between Kuranda and Cairns. There will be time to explore Kuranda, known as the “Village in the Rainforest’ which includes markets, cafes, restaurants and galleries. Return to hotel late afternoon.

A day at leisure with a visit to the morning markets - a highlight not to be missed.
Check out of the hotel for your trip north, visiting Hartley’s Crocodile Park. A sumptuous two-course lunch is included (not crocodile). Continue on to Wildlife Habitat, a local nature park where you can see an amazing array of coloured Australian birds and interact with kangaroos and pythons (not face-to-face). Arrive at your accommodation with free time before a Welcome-to-Port Douglas dinner.
The day free to choose own activities before a Sunset Paddle Steamer Cruise which includes a welcome drink nibbles and dinner at a wharf restaurant.
Today we enjoy the wonderful experience of an Outer Barrier Reef cruise by catamaran to the edge of Australia’s Continental Shelf – an underwater world of colour and brilliance. Choose to dive, snorkel or stay dry to experience the reef first-hand from the special underwater observatory. Buffet lunch provided.
Return to the mainland late afternoon.
Depart by coach for the Mossman Gorge and Indigenous tour through the pristine rain forest alongside cool streams, towering mountains and natural gorge.
Continue on to Cape Tribulation, a World Heritage area untouched by urban development, noise and air pollution. The flora, coral beaches, boardwalks and walking trails make this a special place to visit.
