Visiting the Chatham Islands

Chatham Islands specialHolidays to the ChathamsPitt Island Tours
The Chatham Islands are known for the pristine landscapes, rich native culture and incredible wildlife. The islands are 870km east of New Zealand and surprise some people in their size at 899 square kilometres including a lagoon named Te Whanga at 179 square kilometres. The locals are friendly and welcoming, the scenery breath-taking, the fishing unbelievable and the seafood to die for. The Chatham’s are certainly a special place to visit.

However, the Chatham’s offer some challengers. Many of the highlights of the Island require travelling over private land which involves permission from the land owner, there is also no public transport on offer and even airport transfers need to be arranged prior to your arrival.

We receive many positive comments from our returning groups regarding the friendliness of the locals, the unique landscape, Pitt Island, superb food and great fishing. The value for money of the tour is also commented on - all the ingredients for a special break in a special location.

"Meals brilliant, Kaingaroa an excellent evening, fishing good fun" - Stu and Maureen
